How to Get Cash Back on Online Shopping

In this post I'll discuss simple steps you can following to get cashback on purchases you make online for money you are planning to spend anyway.  Let's get started!
 

1. Click on the link here or enter http://www.cashbackmonitor.com/ in your favorite web browser's address bar. This will land you at the site below where you will see a bunch of popular stores listed (You don't necessarily need a login to be able to use this site). Cashback Monitor is a fantastic aggregator that allows you to compare sites offering cashback, travel miles/points, and other rewards.

2. If you don't see the store listed under 50 popular stores already, in the Search Store Here bar, enter the store name you are planning to shop at and hit enter or press search icon.  If it is there, then continue; otherwise, there are no offers for cashback for that store and you can stop there.  In this example, I'll use Sephora, a brand a lot of ladies like and that comes up.

3.  Sometimes, it can return multiple stores, nevertheless, select the store that most fits.  In this case, I selected the highlighted Sephora store.

4. You must then determine whether you want cashback, travel miles/points, credit card points, or other rewards.  Me personally,  80% of the time I'm going want cashback.  Cashback Monitor has done a lot of the work for you and sorts the highest to lowest rewards.

 

5. We started this post by saying how to get cashback, so I am going to select one of the portals under cashback.  Just to keep it simple, I select eBates with 8% cashback because I already have a login for their site.  Clicking the link will redirect you to eBates website.  Note: If you, are selecting a portal for first time, you will need a create a login.

6.  You see the offers for 8%, but be sure to read the cashback terms to get 8% because some of these sites get slick like if you got an e-gift card or gift card, it would not be eligible for cash back. So ensure the know the terms on eligible items.  Select the 8% cash back shop now button which will take you over to the Sephora website.  With the exception of the excluded items mentioned, anything you now purchase will get you 8% cashback to your eBates account.  Note:  The promo codes below can be stacked in addition to the 8% cashback for those listed below.  In other words, you using the promo code EYECANDY does not exclude you from still getting cashback.

 

7.  There is an in between screen that happens while taking you over to Sephora here below that eBates records the trip you are taking through its portal to get to Sephora and by doing this simple thing is what gets you the cashback.  Sephora pays eBates for them referring a customer(you) to them and EBATES in turn shares some of that with you in the form of cashback.

 

8.  Now, shop and purchase items as you would normally in the browser page that was opened via eBates to ensure the connection stays of your visit through eBates.  If you don't purchase anything at the time, but plan to come back later, you should start the process over from the top.

 9.  Cashback is added to your eBates account when it receives the order information from the stores you purchased from and the time can vary on how long this takes from portal to portal.  

10.  For the downside to this, on portals, in this case eBates, be sure to read what the payout terms are for the site because in some cases, it could be awhile before you actually see the money.  For example, below is eBates payout terms.  They payout on a quarterly basis.  However, rest assured not all portals have the same payout terms as eBates, but you will get your money eventually.

The concept and steps for what you would do are similar if you were to chose a different portal than eBates as well.  When you start implementing this, you will see a lot of the same names popping up again and again at the top of the list for most cashback.  By then you will have logins for those portals and be familiar with the cashback and payout terms.

The bottom line is, you are leaving money on the table it you are not using cashback portals when shopping online, but you now have no excuse as to not knowing how to do so as 10 steps are laid out above for you to start getting your cashback today!
